Make your own marbled paper chains at Big Penny Social Monday 24th November 2025 7pm - 9pm

Discover the endangered craft of paper marbling and learn how to make traditional marbled papers in this hands-on festive workshop at Big Penny Social's Christmas Bazaar.

Over two hours, you'll learn how to print your own marbled papers and get the chance to make your own paper chains using a selection of colourful papers.

If your papers are dry by the end of the workshop, you can take them straight home, and if not, they will be available to pick up from Big Penny Social the next day.

All materials provided.

We'll be using paint in this workshop, so please don't wear anything too expensive!

Join Daunton Marbling Studio for this festive Christmas cracker workshop. Nichola Daunton will guide you through the process of producing traditional marbled papers and turning them into elegant Christmas crackers, complete with hat, joke and gift.

During the workshop you’ll learn how to build your own Christmas cracker, before getting hands-on at a marbling tray and producing six beautiful marbled papers using traditional tools and techniques. Your marbled papers will need to dry overnight, but can be picked up the following weekend (14th and 15th December) from Workshop Number 29.

You will leave the workshop with a cracker pack, which will contain all the materials you need to turn your marbled papers into stylish Christmas crackers at home.

No previous marbling experience needed.

Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, as paint can sometimes spatter during the marbling process.
